#1 – Crazyweed

Crazyweed has been one of Canmore locals’ favourite restaurants for the last two decades! Founded in 1997, Crazyweed has delicious food prepared by award-winning chefs. True innovators, in 2020, their response to COVID was to pivot and offer a curbside take-out menu, a pantry store with salad dressings, sauces and soups, a wine shop, and cocktails to go (ask about their special ice!). Crazyweed truly is delicious, convivial and eclectic.

#2 – Table Food + Drink

A favourite with both locals and visitors alike, Table Food + Drink combines quality ingredients with traditional methods presented on the plate in a contemporary interpretation. Table Food + Drink offers seasonal menus and, in the summer, fresh ingredients from their garden. Chef Tim Matsell, who has lived in the valley for more than two decades, brings his extensive culinary experience to their kitchen and your taste buds/from their kitchen to your taste buds.

#3 – Where the Buffalo Roam Saloon

Founded in 2014, Where the Buffalo Roam Saloon is a vibrant cocktail bar featuring all things local! Canadian foods, Canadian craft beers, Canadian wines, as well as craft cocktails using rare and local premium spirits. Located on Canmore’s main street, Where the Buffalo Roam is known for their delicious soups, seafood and burgers.

#4 – Tapas

Voted one of the best restaurants in Alberta and one of the most romantic restaurants in the Rockies, Tapas is committed to using local and organic ingredients (see their website for a list of their food partners). Owned by chef Tracey Little (IG @wildlittlechef) who combines her fine dining knowledge and experience and presents them beautiful on a plate. Tapa’s offers a lively fusion of Spanish flavours. With gluten free and vegetarian options available.

Constantly innovating, Tapa’s introduced a heated ice fishing tent on their patio for private dining of cohorts of up to six people (when in-person dining is allowed by the provincial government). Can you think of anything more Albertan?

#5 – Four Two Nine Six (4296)

One of Canmore’s newest restaurants, Four Two Nine Six (4296) is named after Canmore’s elevation, 4296 feet. Founded by Chef Blake Flann, Blake’s new restaurant serves pop culture cuisine inspired by the ever-changing global food scene.
