Adoption Update with Husky Heroes, Aspen & Falkor

What’s your name and the name of your beloved husky heroes!

Aspen and Falkor

Where do you live?

Airdrie, Alberta, Canada.

When did you adopt your retired sled dog?

Aspen was adopted in 2023 and Falkor in 2020.

Describe your family, partner, kids and other animals?

Fun, friendly and full of fluff lol. Just my husband and I (Jessica), we both have always been obsessed with huskies and animals in general. I also have two Arabian horse crosses, and we all enjoy outdoor walks/adventures.

What motivated you to adopt a retired sled dog?

I heard amazing things from multiple people after losing a previous husky, and a horse friend reached out to me that also adopted from Snowy Owl. I was told the care was excellent, the homing process was serious for serious forever homes and the reviews after researching were commendable.

What do you love most about having an adoptee sled dog join your family?

They had an excellent upbringing; they are well socialized and friendly dogs. They matched our lives perfectly and fit tremendously well with our personalities as a couple. I knew when I got them, they had great exposure to many things and had fantastic up-to-date care when getting them. Additionally, our heroes keep us going, motivate us, give us comfort and make us giggle daily. My husband and I are truly grateful to have received such incredible children that provide us a beautiful outlet. Both my husband and I are exceptionally attached to them. It is a hope we will continue our link to Snowy Owl for more furbabies.

What 3 activities does your adoptee enjoy the most?

Double daily walk adventures, playing tag, and serious full body snuggles.

What new skills did your husky hero learn since living with you?

Playing fun games with their weird humans, stairs are okay lol, and other animals can be cool.

Did adopting a retired sled dog meet all your expectations?

Most definitely!!!
